Let's start this blog out with a song!

i thought i would start the blog out with this song by the fabulous Odetta titled 900 Miles. It was released on her second album titled Odetta Sings Folk Songs in 1963.

Once i was on a train to the airport in Budapest, Hungary to catch a flight. When the train arrived at my stop there was a woman blocking the exit and the train only stopped for a few moments. i missed my stop and the train happened to be an express train into the Hungarian countryside that took me an hour or so outside of the city. Panic had set in because i knew i was going to miss my flight, and i had no idea where i was heading. This song came on my iPod and seemed very appropriate at that time. It made me realize there was nothing i could do about it. So now every time it comes on, it takes me back to that moment and makes me laugh a little bit. In the end, i just decided to enjoy the adventure and take in the beauty of the countryside. i finally made it back to the airport several hours later and had missed all the flights that day. So i just enjoyed another amazing evening in Budapest and caught a flight the next morning.
